Vintage Georg Jensen Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Flower Jam Spoon, 35 grams

  

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely vintage Georg Jensen Sterling Silver jam spoon in the desirable "Blossom" pattern.

This design included a lightly hammered finish and a stylized magnolia blossom at the end of the handle. This pattern is certainly whimsical and imaginative which is typical of Jensen's designs incorporating shapes and figures from nature into his organic shaped items. The spoon is in excellent condition with no scratches, dents or dings. The ladle is stamped # 21, "Georg Jensen" within a circle mark and "Sterling, Denmark".

The beautiful "Blossom" pattern was designed in 1905 and quickly became one of their all-time most popular patterns. This pattern was the most typical of the Art Nouveau period of all Jensen's designs with the flower bud being inspired by Japanese art.
