This magnificent Flat woven rug has great character, artistic Art Nouveau design with bold florals, and is in superb condition. It's a fabulous decorative piece! Hervé Lelong, a painter-cartoonist, was born in Chartres in 1937. A student of Wogensky, he worked in Aubusson where he had many of his creations woven. Most of his designs are limited to a few copies. The work, done on a Jacquart loom with the Princess Stitch, is authenticated by the art publisher, Jean Laurent, in 1974.
